Yes, I am Joyanto Kumar Deb from a small district town called Barasat, in West Bengal which is in India. After my schooling I got degree from Government College of art and craft, Kolkata, West Bengal in the year 1990.
Joined Times of India, Bombay as Design Officer. Did several exhibitions in Kolkata, Bombay, Delhi, Goa.
Previously I was interesting in realistic works. Now I am in Barasat (WB). I find a new method of paintings without touching the canvas. I lay the (huge) canvas down flat and didn't always use brushes. I would often dip sticks into the paint bucket and then wave it in the direction of the canvas or just drip the bucket over it. I use broom(that washes floor) and broom sticks. I did not use usual painter's tools such as easel, palette, brushes, etc. I use synthetic resin-based paints called enamels and aluminum. I play flinging, dripping, pouring, and spattering, I move energetically around the canvas. . On the floor I am more at ease. I feel nearer, more part of the painting, since this way I can walk around it, work from the four sides and literally be in the painting. I stop using western tradition of using easel and brush. I made my own tools. My paintings are mainly use of only the hand and wrist. So there is pure harmony of Abstract Expressionism, an easy give and take, and the painting comes out.
So this is what I am, If you are interesting to see my paintings. Please contact me at my email ID jojodeb123@gmail.com.
Thanks
